Counseling for Teens in AZ

Are you having a hard time connecting with your teen?

Teens face unique problems. With school demands, self image, physical changes in their bodies, peer relationships and pressure, divorce or strain within the family, and social media pressures, their lives can feel incredibly overwhelming.

Through counseling, they will learn interpersonal effectiveness, problem solving skills, and ways to cope with stress in healthy ways. Some behaviors are part of being a teenager, but if you have noticed an increase in these changes in your teen, reach out today for a free consult.

  • Amount of time spent on phone and social media

  • Disturbed sleep habits, either too much or not enough

  • Social isolation and withdrawal

  • Mood changes

  • Eating changes

Their needs are just as unique as they are.

Teens want to feel understood.

In a world where social media influence is king, additional challenges are presented for our already stressed out teens.

It can present a double edge sword. Connection is so important in their world, and so is feeling accepted by their peers. On the flip side, it can bring forward the ever potent risk of bullying and body shaming, among other issues.

Teens are under so much pressure, now more than ever. In the age of quarantines, social distancing, and masks, our teens are struggling to connect and feel connected. The challenges they already face have been magnified, and they are crying out for our help.

I can teach them the coping skills to tolerate the things they cannot change, and to re-frame their thinking to create lasting positive effects on their well being. They will learn how to set boundaries with friends, build confidence in themselves, create a healthy body image, tolerate distress that comes their way, and to use social media in a way that reinforces healthy habits and healthy thinking.

I meet them where they’re at. They don’t need another adult to tell them what to do. They need understanding and validation (and maybe some well placed humor). They will find a relaxed place to safely process their experiences here.
